Planning your windows

Where clear film works best

Clear RF film goes straight onto the glass and keeps rooms bright. It treats the windows, so pair it with paint or wallpaper on any walls that face the signal source.

Ways to use it

  1. 01

    Windows facing the source

Start with the windows that face a phone mast, a busy street or a neighbour's router. These are often the main way signals get in.

  2. 02

    Bedroom windows

Treat the windows in the room where you sleep, then add a shielding curtain if you want to close the gaps around the frame.

  3. 03

    Home office and glass doors

Glass doors and large office windows let a lot through. Film keeps the view while reducing the signals coming in.

  4. 04

    Rooms where light matters

Living rooms, kitchens and garden rooms keep a bright, natural look, with less UV fading on furniture and floors.

How to plan it

  • Measure the glassMeasure the width and height of each pane and allow extra for trimming and alignment. Choose a 3, 4 or 5 ft width to keep joins to a minimum. Lengths are cut from 5 ft upwards.
  • FittingThe film is self-adhesive and applied with water onto clean glass. Do not fit it below 5 °C. Larger panes are best fitted by a professional.
  • Close the gapsSignals can still come through frames, walls and doors. A shielding curtain over the window, and paint or wallpaper on the walls, completes the room.
  • Cut to your sizeEach order is cut to your measurements, so it can only be returned if it is faulty. Check your sizes before ordering, or ask us to check them with you.

Using RF window film

Shield the glass, keep the view

Fits straight onto the glass
01

Fits straight onto the glass

The film is cut to your size and applied with water, like a standard window film. Clean the glass, apply it, squeeze out the water and trim the edges.

Treat the walls too
02

Treat the walls too

Windows are often only one way in. Pair the film with HSF54 paint or K150 wallpaper on the walls that face the source.

  1. 1

    Measure

Take RF readings, then measure each pane and allow extra for trimming.

  2. 2

    Fit

Apply to clean glass above 5 °C. Larger panes are best fitted professionally.

  3. 3

    Check

Measure again after fitting to see the difference.
