How It Works

Most shielding blankets hide a thin blended-metal fabric inside. This one doesn’t need to. Its taupe outer side is made entirely from silver — one of the most conductive materials there is — so the same surface you touch is the surface doing the work.

Shielding: position the blanket so the silver side sits between you and a device, and it acts as a conductive barrier during close-contact use.

Grounding: snap on the supplied lead and plug it into a correctly earthed UK socket, and the silver side is connected to earth. Rest the silver side against your body to use this function.

Shielding performance depends on coverage, positioning, signal type, device output and your surrounding environment. This product is not designed to shield low-frequency magnetic fields from power lines, transformers, household wiring or electrical current flow.

How to Use

For grounding: first confirm that the socket is correctly earthed using a suitable socket or grounding tester. Snap the supplied lead onto the blanket’s connection point, then insert its UK grounding plug into the tested wall socket. Place the silver side towards your body. The lead is for grounding use only and does not power the blanket.

For laptop, tablet or phone use: place the blanket between your body and the device so the silver side faces the device. Keep laptops stable and leave all vents, fans and heat outlets unobstructed. Do not wrap a charging or warm device tightly in the blanket.

For sofa or bed use: drape the blanket over your lap or body as you would a normal throw. If using the grounding function, make sure the lead is secure, untangled and routed safely.
