Choose Between Two Methods of Application
- Metal side facing into the room: This method offers the best technical solution for shielding. It also enables the easy removal of the wallpaper without leaving metallised residues on the wall. However, the result may not be as visually appealing.
- White wallpaper side facing into the room: A more visually appealing solution.
For the best shielding results, we recommend overlapping individual strips and smoothing them out with fine putty, followed by sanding. Alternatively, you can glue the strips edge-to-edge, which may result in minimal shielding losses for higher frequencies.

Grounding
Each wallpaper set comes with self-adhesive grounding straps with conductive glue to bridge any cracks from the wallpaper application or overlapping wallpaper panels. It can be glued directly on shielding wallpaper, paints, fleeces, or other internal surfaces. Depending on what side you use to show in the room, the tape can be placed before wallpaper installation or after. This wallpaper is a conductive material & an adequately integrated grounding system will provide a low-resistance path for any electrical charges found from the wiring behind the walls to dissipate safely into the ground.
You can earth a wallpapered surface or two continuous wallpapered surfaces by affixing a metal plate near a socket on either wall so that it makes good contact with the paint or wallpaper. A copper wire can connect the plate to any available earth; in this case, the standard Earth is typically the top hole in most UK electrical sockets.
The grounding does not influence the shielding effectiveness for high-frequency radiation but how effective low-frequency electric alternating fields are shielded. An adequately grounded system is essential for safety as the wallpaper is electrically conductive.
Two layers of the wallpaper is not recommended due to the shielding attenuation of one layer already being very high.
