How to Measure EMF

Choose the Area
Start with areas where you spend the most time, such as the bed, desk, sofa, home office, child's room, meditation area and relaxation space.

Identify the Likely Source
Look for nearby sources such as a WiFi router, mobile phone, laptop, smart meter, plug socket, extension lead, appliance, breaker panel, wiring route, transformer or nearby power infrastructure.

Choose the Right Detector
RF detectors are used for wireless signals. Electric field meters are used for voltage-related sources. Low-frequency magnetic field meters are used for current-related sources such as breaker panels, appliances, transformers and power cables.

Measure at Real-Use Distance
Measure where your body actually is, not only directly beside the source. For example, check pillow height at the bed, head and torso position at the desk, sitting position at the sofa, or the wall surface if checking a breaker panel behind a wall.

After moving a device, switching something off, changing cable layout or installing shielding, measure again in the same position.
